Cougars vs. j-hawks

December 12th the cougars took on  the Jefferson j-hawks at home. The gym was packed, the crag news was there cops were there it was going to be a great game. The game started quickly trading three pointers back and forth, but Jefferson started to pull away early with energy. The Jefferson crowd was going crazy. Jefferson was up in the first quarter by 5. When i asked a student in the crowd, Jackson how he thought the first quarter went he says, “Jefferson just hit more shots and Kennedy was shooting to many threes instead of driving.” the second quarter was the same the cougars hung around but couldn't take the lead down going into half time. The cougars came out with some more energy in the 3rd quarter. It was a back and forth battle between the two, Trey Sheets leading the cougars in scoring. So fast forward to the fourth quarter with a minute left. Cougars down three and they have the ball Tyler drives to the hoop draws a foul and makes the shot, if he makes the free throw its a tie game. He goes to the line, goes through is routine the shots up and he misses the shot. And Kennedy fouls the Jefferson player makes both of his free throws. It is now at three point game. The Kennedy head coach Mckown calls a time out. Now there is around 17 seconds left. The cougars get it in and the clock starts, and with ten 3 seconds left Trey goes up for a three and gets fouled! Three free throws, if he makes them all its a tie game. The gym is going nuts. Trey goes to the line for the first shot, and he misses! The game is over Kennedy loses to Jefferson 58-60. Jackson says “man they're call free throws for a reason they're free, you got to make them. That's what cost them the game.”
